The Pet Collector offers cremation services that genuinely care about your furry friends. Established in 2012, they specialise in individual cremations, ensuring every pet is treated with respect, dignity, and utmost attention.

What really stands out is their personal touch. They collect your pet from your home or the clinic, transport them safely to the Liverpool Pet Crematorium, and return the ashes the next day.

The only downside mentioned by a client was that they had to call twice for a pickup before they were officially scheduled.

Nonetheless, I appreciate that they also allow you to choose between a scatter box or a beautifully engraved oak casket, offering a meaningful and lasting tribute.

They’re also fully DEFRA/AHVLA authorised and insured, giving you peace of mind during an emotionally difficult time.

As pet owners themselves, the company truly understands the significance of saying goodbye, and their compassionate approach makes the whole process feel thoughtful and considerate.

Pros

  • Offers personalised cremation services

Cons

  • Scheduling requires extra follow-ups

Lester made things easier for us

“After the loss of my best friend of 17 years. We are heartbroken as a family who loved and cherished Mops every single day of her life. In unimaginable pain, Lester made things easier for us and we managed to smile. He picked Mopsie up the same day she passed away at the vets and brought her home to us the next morning. It’s difficult to trust somebody with your baby and Lester is a genuine animal lover, who never just dropped Mopsie of but helped us in grief by sharing stories of his own losses and we managed to laugh about the funny things our loved ones did. The box he brought Mops in is sentimental, it displays a personal message we requested to be on the box. We would have been lost without Lester bringing Mops back to us the next day in this way. Highly recommend using Lester.

Couldn’t thank you enough Lester for bringing Mops home to us.”

You know your pets are in loving hands

“Lester has done 3 of our animals now he’s always kind and compassionate and is always willing to go the extra mile for you and your fur babies, you know your pets are in loving hands I wouldn’t have anyone else.

Thank you for reuniting Biscuit with her sister Rosie”

When my friend recently lost their beloved cat, they turned to Pet Cremations UK, and I was genuinely impressed by the care they showed.

My friend used the home collection service, which made the process so much easier during such an emotional time.

They also appreciated that their cat’s ashes were returned in a dignified hessian pouch, and they were given the option to have keepsakes, such as paw prints.

However, note that these extras are not included in the standard service. Costs can add up and become quite expensive.

Nonetheless, another nice touch is that Pet Cremation UK is available 24/7. According to many furparents, they didn’t have to wait or feel rushed. The team was professional yet compassionate, making sure everything was done with respect.

Plus, their familiarity with Liverpool’s local area meant the collection was quick and efficient. No time was wasted, especially during the pickup.

Pros

  • Offers home or vet clinic collection
  • Provides options for keepsakes
  • Available 24/7
  • Quick and efficient collection within Liverpool

Cons

  • Some keepsakes are expensive

They kept me updated throughout

“I couldn’t had asked for a better service. They answered my call at 8am and collection was arranged that afternoon. The collector was lovely and sent his love. I was able to track the progress of the cremation and when he would be sent to me.

They kept me updating in terms of not being able to collect a footprint after the cremation was done as I requested this after Pedro was collected. He’s arrived and he’s home. Even the box he’s in is beautiful. The packaging is lovely too which states fragile and irreplaceable memorial item. Lovely presentation also.”

They went above and beyond

“At such a difficult time the whole experience was just outstanding !!!

How they spoke to me on the phone as I was clearly upset, to the empathy from the gent that collected my dog.

He went above and beyond to explain things to the kids.

He showed interest in our dog about her past and just a real great bed side manner (some thing along of people lack these days)

My dog was returned in days with paw prints, her fur, ashes a beautiful engraved box and I’m forever grateful for what was such a sad experience for me I felt she was very cared for

Thank you”

Each and every person I dealt with was kind and empathetic

“Absolutely fantastic service, I was very upset after having lost my dog, they were recommended to me by the vet. Extremely helpful, very professional, each and every person I dealt with was kind and empathetic. I loved the emails too, to let me know when my dog was being cremated so that I felt more of a part of it, and also the texts when delivering her ashes back to me so I could track their progress. On the whole, I was extremely happy with them and would use them again and recommend them to anyone. I opted for her paw prints to be taken, and they put them in a lovely framed picture!”

We were kept up to date the whole time

Very compassionate driver picked up our boy after we lost him, he explained the whole process to us and was very respectful with our pup. The process went exactly as he said it would and took less time than estimated. We were kept up to date the whole time and never left out of the loop. The paw print is also excellent and they made sure to get all of his different colours for the hair clipping. We’re very glad to have him back home safely and are happy with our choice to use Procare.

I recently reached out to Aughton Meadows (which is about 18 minutes from Liverpool) to explore their pet cremation services. I was impressed by how personal and respectful they are.

Each pet receives an individual cremation, so only their ashes are returned to owners, unlike in communal settings.

One feature that really stood out is their home euthanasia service, which allows pets to be cared for in the comfort of their own home. This is a great feature for owners who want a last glimpse of their pet before it rests eternally.

They also offer a thoughtful selection of memorial options, from eco-friendly scatter tubes to personalised urns, helping families create lasting tributes.

The team is very flexible and accommodating. Appointments can be arranged quickly, and they provide clear guidance on every step, from collection to memorial choices. They also offer keepsakes and pet loss poems, adding a compassionate touch.

The only caveats are the extra fees for home or vet practice collections, and clients cannot be present during the cremation itself.

Pros

  • Offers individual cremations
  • Offers home euthanasia
  • Wide range of memorial options
  • Provides flexible appointments and quick scheduling
  • Offers keepsakes and pet loss poems

Cons

  • Clients cannot be present during the cremation
  • Additional fees for home or vet collections

Full of care and compassion

“I took my beautiful boy Gabriel to Sandra to be cared for after his passing very suddenly due to an illness we didn’t know he had . Sandra was so caring right from the moment we met she couldn’t do enough to put us at ease and really understood the meaning of compassion . We chose  some beautiful keepsakes a paw print ,rainbow bridge keyrings for me and my husband which cane  hold your little ones ashes or a small amount of fur and a beautiful sleeping cat urn for Gabriel’s ashes . It was all so personal we even had a little service for Gabriel with 2 personal songs and a poem which Sandra gave me and my husband the time to do as his final goodbye . The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful and every interaction with Sandra I had was full of care and compassion. In the very sad event  that you may need Sandra’s services I couldn’t recommend anywhere better and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for caring for my Gabriel and returning him to me .”

Created a place filled with magic and peace

“From start to finish Sandra offered support and guided me in a polite, professional and caring manner. She helped me give my beautiful Shih Tzu Rubi the most special and perfect ending. Rubi passed away aged 15 and Sandra made me feel safe leaving Rubi with her, comfortable and couldn’t have shown me more compassion. Sandra was kind, caring and even shed a tear over my Rubi. Straight away I knew she was the one I could trust Rubi with. I will never forget her and will continue to spread the word about her amazing family business all created through love. I have a beautiful Urn for Rubi and a memory bear with some of Rubi’s ashes in. I shall cherish both forever. Thank you Sandra for showing my Rubi respect and helping give her the dignified ending she deserved. You are inspirational and I will keep you in my heart forever. You have created a place filled with magic and peace. All my love always Nicola”

A friend of mine recently used Assisi Pet Funeral Services, and I have to say, they made a heartbreaking time more bearable.

Located just 25 minutes from Liverpool, they offer compassionate, individual cremations for pets of all kinds—from cats and dogs to birds and reptiles.

What really impressed me was the option to witness the cremation, which gives a real sense of closure, knowing that your beloved pet is treated with utmost respect.

Assisi also offers a thoughtful selection of memorial products. This includes urns, caskets, and keepsake jewellery, allowing you to hold onto your pet’s memory in a personal way.

Many pet owners praised the team for guiding them through every step with care and empathy. It’s also great that the facility is open seven days a week, providing ample flexibility for scheduling.

However, some claim that the company takes too long to respond to emails, and they had to wait approximately 5 days regarding a cremation service they were inquiring about.

Pros

  • Offers individual cremations
  • Caters to all kinds of pets
  • Wide range of memorial products
  • Flexible operating hours every day

Cons

  • Slow email responses

It made life easier and less stressful at a very difficult time

“I am so grateful for the wonderful service this company provided. It made life easier and less stressful at a very difficult time. Our boy ‘Woolie’ was collected on the day he passed by the lovely Chloe, at a time that suited and he was returned to us later that day in a beautiful engraved box along with paw prints, keyrings with a lock of his hair and the certificate stating proof of the private cremation, and a rose. The cost was more than reasonable. I would recommend that those who have lost thier fur babies and want them treated with dignity and respect to go to Assisi and not to the vets for thier final journey.”

Made such a heartbreaking situation easier

“Outstanding service. We sadly lost our fur baby, Phoebe yesterday evening. She is now back home with us. Phil and Chloe have been respectful, kind and made such a heartbreaking situation easier for myself and my family. Truly professional in their care and you can feel in the space that Phil has created that it’s a calm and relaxed atmosphere for you to sit and talk about your gorgeous loved one. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making such an emotional time that little bit easier. The entire process has been dealt with in such a professional manner.

Thank you again. The yellow rose and key rings are such a thoughtful touch.”
