Top 5 mobile vets in Liverpool that bring compassionate care to you

Range of Services: I focused on mobile vets that provide a full spectrum of care, from vaccinations and diagnostic testing to microchipping and end-of-life support at home.

Professional Expertise: I selected licensed vets with strong clinical backgrounds and experience in handling pets in a home setting.

Pet Comfort and Care Approach: I looked for vets who emphasise stress-free visits, using gentle handling and positive reinforcement to make pets feel at ease.

Customer Feedback: I reviewed client reviews highlighting reliability, punctuality, and compassion.

Pricing and Transparency: I compared vets offering clear pricing structures, fair consultation rates, and no hidden fees.

If you’ve ever tried getting a nervous pet into a carrier or convincing them to hop into the car, you know that vet visits can feel like a full-on workout. Dealing with stressed pets can make clinic visits more exhausting than ever.

I learned this the hard way with my cat, who somehow manages to disappear the moment I grab the carrier. By the time we reached the vet, she was trembling, and I was tired.

That’s when I decided to check mobile vets in Liverpool. They come right to your door with calm and professional care… no waiting rooms, no car rides.

How much do mobile vet services cost in Liverpool?

In Liverpool, mobile vet services usually cost between £50 and £80 for a standard home visit, which includes a basic consultation. More comprehensive services, such as vaccinations or minor treatments, typically range from £80 to £150.

The Vaccine Vet stands out for offering far more than just routine vaccinations. Their mobile service offers everything from health checks and flea and worm treatments to microchipping and even end-of-life care.

What really sets them apart is their focus on convenience without compromising professionalism. Appointments are conducted at home, led by a certified veterinarian who has over a decade of experience working with small animals.

Their approach makes a world of difference for pets that become anxious and stressed in traditional on-site clinics, as well as for owners who struggle to handle them.

I also appreciated that they offer practical extras, such as dietary advice and export health certificates, which truly make them a one-stop service.

However, availability can be limited, especially during peak seasons (early summer or holiday periods). It’s best to book well in advance to secure your preferred time slot.

Pros

  • Comprehensive mobile pet services
  • Led by a well-experienced vet
  • Handles anxious pets
  • Practical extras like dietary advice
  • End-of-life care at home

Cons

  • Limited availability during peak seasons

I would genuinely pay double for the service provided

“We contacted Andrea to get some advice on home euthanasia for our beloved dog Bella. Andrea was compassionate and professional providing advice and support over the phone prior to us making any commitments. He never pushed anything and just provided sound advice and support. We contacted Andrea back and asked if he could come out to euthanise Bella on a Sunday and he was really helpful once again and provided a time slot that suited us which we were then able to change at short notice. Andrea arrived on time and texted to say he was outside which was a really considerate touch to keep Bella calm. Andrea spent time discussing the process with us and then euthenised Bella in a calm, professional, compassionate way. Andrea then left us to spend time with Bella before then taking her to Aughton meadows (who were also fantastic once they recieved Bella)

During the whole experience nothing was too much trouble for Andrea and I would like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for making an impossibly difficult situation,  bearable. We also received a card from Andrea and a personalised bone with Bellas name on a week later which was a really nice thing to do.  The best thing I can say is that I would genuinely pay double for the service provided, it was worth every penny.”

The care my girl received was outstanding

“I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life, to put my darling girl to sleep. A decision I don’t wish on anyone. When I contacted Andrea, he was amazing from the get go. He came out to my girl and was so gentle and kind with her in her final moments. The care my girl received was outstanding and a week later I received a little plaque and a card with my girls name on and a beautiful card. The crematorium centre that Andrea uses Aughton Crematorium was also outstanding, they dealt with my girl with so much care. Although I wish my girl was still here with me, I know I couldn’t have chosen a better person to do this with, thankyou x”

Cloud 9 Vets is one of those rare services that approaches one of life’s hardest moments with genuine empathy and compassion. Their speciality? At-home, end-of-life care for pets.

They’re fully UK-wide and operate 7 days a week, so they’re ready when you need them. Their vets are also members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), which adds an extra layer of trust.

What I especially appreciate is their aftercare services, which show that their care doesn’t end when your pet passes. They offer individual or communal pet cremation and ash return, while also offering grief counselling and memorial wall support.

They’re also proactive about education. They have a robust knowledge base that covers topics like pet cancer, quality of life assessments, and more. They see this work as not only clinical, but also emotional and informational.

However, this kind of specialised service means that they charge more than the usual provider.

Pros

  • Specialises in end-of-life care
  • UK-wide availability
  • Operates 24 hours, 7 days a week
  • Has certified vets from RCVS
  • Offers cremation, grief counselling, and support
  • Provides educational resources on its website

Cons

  • Higher pricing compared to others

The staff on the phone were proactive

“Professional and compassionate service,  the staff on the phone were proactive and took all my panic away. They sorted everything and sent a vet called Anne who handled Ruby, our border terrier, with true love and care. The vet made it slightly more bearable and had the perfect balance between making sure we understood what was happening, and being sensitive to our heartbreak. Ruby passed very peacefully, not scared, in her own home, and Anne made sure she we were the ones cuddling her all the way until the end. Thank you.”

Thank you so much for making such an awful time that little bit easier

“I cannot put into words how grateful we are to Andrea for his care and compassion towards not only our lovely Blue, but also to us. Andrea made sure we were fully aware of how the process would go, gave us the time and space we needed with our Blue and even allowed us to have the process done in our back garden, on a blanket surrounded by his favourite toys which meant he was calm and comfortable. It was the perfect setting for Blue and although it was never going to be easy, it was at least peaceful and he was happy in his final moments. Thank you so much for making such an awful time that little bit easier.”

I recently had to find a vet and used Medivet UK. Their services are broad, ranging from vaccinations and neutering to advanced diagnostics, such as MRI and CT scans. They even offer exotic pet care.

One thing that stood out was their transparency and continuity of care. They have shared clinical records across locations so that even if you go elsewhere, your pet’s history follows.

They also provide 24-hour emergency centres across many locations, which is a huge plus in urgent care situations. I actually had to bring in my cat for a check late at night, and I was met with the loveliest people.

The staff were knowledgeable, explaining risks and options regarding the procedure my pet has to go through. This made me feel at ease, honestly.

If I were to point out a drawback, it’s that I had to wait a long time before getting a response for another consultation a few weeks later.

    Pros

    • Offers advanced diagnostics
    • Caters to exotic pets
    • Provides shared clinical records among locations
    • Offers 24-hour emergency centres
    • Knowledgeable and compassionate staff

    Cons

    • Slow response times during booking

The whole team are fantastic, friendly and empathetic

“We couldn’t recommend MediVet Alder enough, the whole team are fantastic, friendly and empathetic. Everyone who we dealt with gave us a good experience whether it was a vet, nurse or reception staff.

Our fur baby Lucy has been a regular patient over the last 3-4 weeks as she was in palliative care and unfortunately had to be put to sleep today at the age of 13.5 years. The whole team at MediVet Alder were amazing! They kept us up to date as much as possible and allowed us to visit Lucy during her hospitalisation stay.

Lucy’s vets Cristina and Zuzanna are phenomenal. They listened and answered any questions we had, they explained everything in detail so we understood exactly what was happening and most importantly handled Lucy with the upmost care. When we had to hospitalise her, we knew she was in safe hands.

On behalf of Lucy, thank you so much.”

A wonderful team, dedicated to the job with love for our furry children

“All my mustachioed children were and are patients of the Medivet Alder clinic. I started with Whiskers then with Garfield, Cosmo and Gismo. Over time I have had minor health problems but also serious problems with some of the children. I have always had everything that is best for them. Consultation, treatment, advice. The whole team starting from Dr. Glad, Dr. Cristina, Dr. Adam the other doctors, nurses, receptionists are exceptional (I apologize for not remembering everyone’s names)! They all form a wonderful team, dedicated to the job with love for our furry children and empathy. We thank you for existing and for every time when needed, we have all the support we need!”

The Pet Vet feels like the kind of place where pet care suddenly seems more manageable, and that’s really the strongest impression you walk away with.

What stands out is their Pet Health Plan. It lets you smooth out costs with monthly payments while still getting preventive care like vaccinations and flea treatment. It’s a great offer since not all owners can immediately pay for unexpected bills.

They then couple this with pet insurance (via Vetsure) to give you peace of mind. They’re accredited to promote Vetsure options, which include lifetime coverage for conditions.

They’re not just a vet clinic either. They aim to be a full pet care partner, and they’re doing the best they can to help clients go through the process without feeling overwhelmed.

If I were to point out a downside, it’s that some services are a bit too complex. Even with their plans, you’ll need to pick the right level of coverage, manage waiting periods, and understand which treatments are included.

    Pros

    • Offers a Pet Health Plan
    • Promotes Vetsure lifetime coverage
    • Uses a supportive approach for pet owners

    Cons

    • Complex service plans

    Better than my previous vets

“Bleu my cat, was a new client and needed dental treatment were she needed to have 8 teeth out.  The care she had was outstanding. The staff explained everything to us and answered all our questions, she recovered quickly and was eating past herself the next day. I emailed the surgery for Bleu’s medical records for the insurance claim and this was returned within the hour . Am also impressed that in the waiting room they have separate sitting areas for cats and dogs. Can’t fault the practice or staff I came into contact with they were excellent and appeared to love the pets they were caring for. Would recommend this practice, there opening times are excellent too, far better than my previous vets.”

This team is passionate about what they do

“I can’t thank The Pet Vet enough for the exceptional care they’ve given to my pup Freddie. From the moment we walked in, the team made Freddie feel completely at ease. They have such a gentle and compassionate approach that you can tell they truly love animals. The staff always take the time to comfort Freddie and make him feel safe during every visit, which means the world to me. They explain everything thoroughly and make sure Freddie’s needs are met with the utmost attention. It’s clear that this team is not only professional but also passionate about what they do. I trust them completely with Freddie’s health, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much!”

Thompson’s Pet Care has built a solid reputation for offering honest and affordable vet care without cutting out quality. They price consultations on their site at only £32.50, showing that they’re transparent with their prices.

What really stands out is how easy it is to see what they offer. From vaccinations and health checks to surgeries, every procedure is clearly listed with base prices. That kind of openness is something you don’t often see.

Because Thompson’s is a family-run company, there’s a personal feel to how they handle cases. They’re less formal and corporate, making clients feel that they’re more community-focused than others.

However, as a newer practice, they may not provide emergency or out-of-hours services. This could be a concern if your pets require urgent care outside regular hours, so it’s best to contact them ahead in advance for alternative recommendations.

    Pros

    • Has transparent and affordable pricing
    • Lists services with base prices
    • Family-run company
    • Has a community-focused approach

    Cons

    • No emergency vet services

The vet was amazing, and our baby has healed up nicely

“Honestly the best vet we’ve ever bin to. We had to get our baby spayed due to the exemption rules which i honestly didn’t want to do as I knew the risks but obviously had no choice and they where so understanding and allowed me to wait outside until she could come home as I didn’t want to leave her and they came out multiple times to let me know how she was doing. The vet was amazing and our baby has healed up nicely. Everyone is so lovely and caring, our baby loves it there and she was just as excited to go back for all her post op checkups so that says a lot 😊. We are grateful beyond words and recommend to everyone with furry baby’s big and small ☺️.”

These people really do love animals, and it shows

“Absolutely amazing, the care given here is top quality, my dog was rushed in for an emergency c section after a miscarriage, they phoned with updates, took a video of her uterus to show they hadn’t left any behind, kept the foetus incase we wanted to see/take home to bury. All the staff were so kind and considerate and took such good care of my girl, these people really do love their animals and it shows! They also didn’t leave a big nasty scar, the incision is so small. The price was better than any other vets and I will definitely without a shadow of a doubt recommend and use them again. They saved my dogs life and she was home the same day, I cannot thank them enough. Thankyou to all of the staff here you were absolutely amazing!”
