Say yes to memories with the 5 best wedding photographers in Liverpool

Experience and Portfolio: I visited each photographer’s website and Instagram, reviewing at least 50 recent wedding galleries to see who consistently captured genuine moments and beautiful details.

Client Reviews: I sifted through Google and Facebook reviews of each photographer, focusing on couples who praised not just the photos but how comfortable and cared for they felt during shoots.

Photography Style: I studied sample photos and compared each photographer side by side to ensure their style matched the natural, timeless, and creative look I wanted for my wedding.

Packages and Pricing: I created a detailed sheet for each photographer, comparing prices, hours covered, and what each package included to find the best value for my budget.

Professionalism and Personality: I paid close attention to how they communicated through emails and social media—quick, friendly, and clear responses showed me they’d be easy and reliable to work with on the big day.

When I planned my own wedding, I quickly realised how tough it is to pick the right photographer. There are so many talented people out there, but you only get one chance to capture those special moments.

I wanted someone who could really tell our story and make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. After conducting extensive research and careful consideration, I have compiled a list of my top wedding photographers in Liverpool that I’d trust to do just that.

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed or not sure where to start, just keep reading. This list should help you find the perfect match to capture your big day.

How much do wedding photographers charge in Liverpool?

When I was searching for a wedding photographer, Keyhole Studios instantly caught my attention.

It’s run by husband-and-wife duo Kris and Eugene McDonald. They’ve been in the game for over 15 years and photograph roughly 120 weddings a year, everything from chic city venues to rustic barns, even celebrity events.

Their modern, documentary-style feels authentic. I love that they offer flexible packages: photography-only from £1,600, or a photo and film combo for about £2,900. These cover morning prep to the first dance, with over 700 edited images, USB delivery, and an online gallery.

They even offer extras like same-day slideshows, second shooters, albums, and even wedding cars, making them a one-stop shop.

However, the starting price might stretch some budgets, and their deposit schedule (20% on booking, 30% a month before, 50% after) requires careful planning. Additionally, their popularity means you need to book well in advance, especially during the summer.

Pros

  • Over 15 years of wedding experience
  • Modern and documentary-style photography
  • Flexible packages and pricing
  • Provides over 700 edited images included
  • One-stop shop for events

Cons

  • Expensive starting price
  • Strict deposit payment schedule
  • Books up very quickly

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish

“We had Keyhole Studios capture our wedding at West Tower and they were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They went above and beyond on the day, and you could tell they genuinely love what they do. One of the things that really stood out was how well they knew the venue. They knew all the best spots for photos, how the light moved through the day, and the little moments to look out for. It made a massive difference having a team that was so familiar with West Tower — everything felt seamless. They were professional, relaxed, and made everything feel easy — they never got in the way. Nothing felt staged or forced, just really natural and full of the atmosphere of the day. You can see how much care and pride they take in their work —  they were fully invested in making sure we had memories we’d love looking back on for years to come. From first contact through to delivery, communication was spot on. Everything felt smooth and in good hands. Genuinely can’t thank them enough — if you’re thinking about booking them, you won’t regret it.”

Incredibly professional but also friendly

“We had the absolute pleasure of having Kris and Eugene as our wedding photographers at Merrydale Manor on 26.07.2025, following from a recomendation from our event dressers ‘I do events’ and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment they arrived, Kris and Eugene brought such a calm and friendly feel to the day, instantly making us feel at ease. They were incredibly professional but also so friendly and approachable, seamlessly blending into the day while capturing everything from the big emotional moments to the tiniest, most meaningful details. The preview photos are nothing short of amazing and we cant wait to see the full album and video. We loved how personal the whole experience was and their ability to capture the day in a natural way and we’re so grateful to them to have these memories captured on our special day. If you’re looking for photographers who are not only talented but genuinely lovely people to have around on your big day, we wholeheartedly recommend Kris and Eugene. They were a dream to work with, and their work speaks for itself.”

What I liked best about Capture Your Moments was how they make quality and flexibility work together.

I also appreciate that so many couples said the team feels relaxed and at ease—a big deal when you’re camera shy!

Plus, their packages instantly felt transparent and easy to compare. They both offer cinematic wedding films and photography, with everything from intimate close-ups to sweeping drone footage.

Their photography starts at £495 (approximately 300-500 edited images) and increases to £1,495 for their VIP package, which delivers 600-800 edited images. Meanwhile, film services range from trailers to full-length edits with music, all delivered via USB or DVD.

The main downside is that £495 is only for 3 hours. Some extras, such as drone footage, aren’t always itemised upfront. Also, their office-based consultations require you to visit in person to view their full portfolio.

Pros

  • Transparent and easy-to-compare packages
  • Cinematic films and photography
  • Offers drone footage
  • Client-friendly approach

Cons

  • £495 only covers 3 hours
  • Extras are not always itemised upfront
  • Requires an in-person visit for a full portfolio

Professional and friendly

“If I could recommend one thing to any couple getting married it would be to hire a videographer! After the day all you have left is your memories and what better way to remember than with a gorgeous video of the day by the amazing Capture Your Moments! People might think its expensive but the old saying you get what you pay for is very true in this case. I’ve seen wedding videos before but never the way Steve makes his a cinematic experience. My husband was unsure if we needed a videographer but after i watched all of capture your moments wedding trailers and crying at every one I knew we had to have them at our wedding! And honestly it was one of the best decisions we made. We couldnt recommend Steve and his team more. Steve was always professional and friendly and his eye to detail on the day to try and capture the story was amazing! And it shows on the video, especially the trailer with his editing skills we have come away with something so special we will treasure for ever. If you are considering a videographer then go with the best …. Capture your Moments! Thank you once again  Steve and Paul, you do a fabulous job xxx”

Extremely professional and approachable

“A huge thank you for our wonderful wedding film – it was everything we had hoped for and more! You captured the spirit of the day perfectly and we absolutely loved the use of our chosen songs. You took the time to get to know us both before the wedding and that definitely showed through in the video. We (and everyone else who has watched it!) are over the moon with it. Your service came highly recommended to us and did not disappoint. From the moment we first made contact with you to the speedy service in getting the finished DVD to us, you were extremely professional, approachable and helpful. You and the photographer worked so well together and you were all a pleasure to have around all day. Thank you so much for all your efforts – you went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day and the most fabulous keepsake. A 10/10 service – I will definitely be recommending you to friends and family!”

What I love about David Walters Photography is how effortless his work feels. It’s like having a friend with a camera who just happens to catch every perfect moment.

When a friend planned her wedding, she didn’t want awkward posing, so David’s relaxed documentary style instantly stood out.

David keeps things simple but flexible. The 6-hour mini package (£1,250) already covers all-day photography, an online gallery, and a photo film set to music.

On the other hand, the 10-hour all-day option is £2,100, with upgrades for a hand-made album or a pre-wedding shoot—both included in his £2,300 top-tier package. Extras like a honeymoon edit (£200) or bespoke album (£400) are also available.

Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind: David works solo, so there’s no second shooter unless you arrange one separately.

Additionally, his turnaround time is approximately 8-12 weeks, which can feel like forever when you’re eager to relive the day.

Pros

  • Relaxed and documentary shooting style
  • Flexible package options
  • Offers a pre-wedding shoot
  • Offers handmade albums

Cons

  • No second shooter by default
  • Longer photo turnaround

Professional with a keen eye for detail

“We chose David as our wedding photographer for our Spring wedding at the Bentley in Liverpool City Centre after seeing his portfolio. He made us feel really comfortable and once we settled in, we forgot he was even there! He takes wonderful, natural shots and we were so pleased with the end result. We did ask him to take quite a few group shots that were more “staged” and he was happy to accommodate. We also had a post-wedding photoshoot a few months later, as we wanted a more relaxed Autumnal shoot following the chaos of our 2 weddings – David was more than happy to go with our suggestion and we were really happy with the photographs set outside St George’s hall. We would definitely recommend David to anyone looking for a wedding photographer – if you want someone who is professional, with a keen eye for detail, and a friendly nature, you won’t regret choosing him to document your special day!”

100% the best choice for a wedding photographer

“David is a fantastic photographer, we were very happy with the result of our wedding photos. I still can’t look at the photos without getting emotional. Before the wedding: David was friendly and nice during the consultation calls we had, he really helped us understand if he’d be a good fit for us (and he was). He even agreed to come and view the venue a few weeks beforehand, so we can agree on some shots, and details. During the wedding: David was discreet yet attentive. He kept telling us to ignore him and carry on as he captured candid moments, and our interactions with each other, and with our guests. The result was photos that are filled with emotions and that transport you. For the few portrait shots we took, he was clicking away and allowing us to play with each other so that the photos could look effortless and not forced. But he also gave some great direction to help us find the light, find the right angles (as anyone would need). He even took us outside our venue for some on-location shots, and the results are amazing. After the wedding: He was so quick to give us the final photos, we couldn’t believe it. About a month after the wedding we had received all our photos in an online gallery, along with a picture slideshow. All the photos he shared with us were carefully curated, and edited and look absolutely stunning yet natural. 100% the best choice for a wedding photographer, don’t think twice!”

Another option I considered when searching for photographers is Culey Photography, and I love their blend of fine-art flair and candid emotion.

Led by Diana, who brings over a decade of photography and graphic design experience, her style moves seamlessly from traditional to photojournalistic.

The services include a full-day coverage (£795) that captures everything from getting-ready moments to the first dance. Meanwhile, the ceremony-only package (£395) focuses on arrival, vows, family portraits, and couple shots.

One thing that stood out to me was the next-day sneak-peek gallery, perfect for reliving the magic while the memories are still fresh. Additionally, the final high-resolution, edited images are delivered in a USB gift box and an online gallery for easy sharing.

However, travel beyond 45 minutes from Liverpool incurs a £50 surcharge, so it’s worth factoring in if your venue is farther away. If you’re on a budget, this might influence which location you choose.

Pros

  • Provides a next-day sneak peek
  • Fine-art storytelling style
  • Offers an online and USB delivery

Cons

  • Expensive travel surcharge

Photos exceeded expectations

“Couldn’t recommend enough! Diana was our photographer for our wedding. Photos are absolutely perfect, I’ve already had some made into bigger photos for the walls! Excellent quality and range of photos, from formal to the more ‘in the moment’ type photos. Would 100% use for future photography needs. Everything was discussed beforehand too, so she knew what kind of photos we were looking for, but photos exceeded expectations (especially since I’m not the most photogenic human 🤣) , all of my family/friends are made up with the photos too! I love the fact i could share the photos with people who are further away too due to the personal link you get. Photos & USB arrived beautifully presented in a lovely keep-sake box too.”

Has a great eye and is easy to deal with

“We are absolutely made up that we booked Diana as our wedding photographer on a recommendation from another bride. We think she was fantastic from the first enquiry to us receiving our photos after the wedding. We had a great meeting at the venue before the wedding where we discussed what shots we definitely wanted and on the day Diana was great on taking the initiative and took loads of photos we didn’t even think about like outfit and accessory details. She was great at directing people when we were taking large group shots as well as helping us feel more comfortable in front of the camera (which neither of us really are) for our more “posed” photos and she has a great eye for angles and locations. We got our photos back very quickly via an online album so we were able to look at them whilst on honeymoon. We then came home and opened a beautiful box with a USB stick inside with our photos on it. She had also done some editing on some of the portrait photos which looked great as well as giving us the original ones. Overall Diana was everything we were looking for in a wedding photographer, she has a great eye and is so lovely to speak to and easy to deal with.”

Another photographer that made my list is Andy J Photography because of his flexible packages and modern delivery options.

Prices start at £995 and go up to £2,095 depending on coverage and add-ons. Additionally, his services encompass everything, from bridal prep and speeches to large group shots, an online gallery, and USB delivery.

However, while the base price is straightforward, add-ons such as albums or extended coverage aren’t fully transparent in terms of cost.

Still, I like that his style is described as relaxed documentary with a touch of tradition. I think it is perfect for couples who want real emotions captured without feeling stiff or overly posed.

But what really stood out to me is the app-based preview. The thought of scrolling through highlights on my phone the day after the wedding while I’m still riding that post-wedding high feels like such a thoughtful touch.

Pros

  • Flexible packages
  • Comprehensive service list
  • Relaxed documentary style
  • Provides an app-based preview

Cons

  • Lack of add-on pricing transparency

Quick turnaround and amazing at what he does

“From the minute we met Andy in a wedding fair we just knew we wanted to book him for our wedding and we are so glad we did! He goes above and beyond to make sure he gets the best photos of your day! He makes you and your guests feel so comfortable and enjoy every minute! Everyone loved our photos and the turn around was so quick, he is amazing at what he does and is such a lovely down to earth man! If you’re like us and are so awkward in front of a camera, I would 100% recommend Andy, he makes you feel so comfortable and we ended up really enjoying it on the day! We can not thank him enough for everything and would recommend him to anyone”

– Lynsey Campbell, Google Review

Professional, friendly, and easy to work with

“We had the absolute pleasure of having Andy as our wedding photographer, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, he was professional, friendly, and so easy to work with. He made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and somehow managed to be everywhere at once without ever being intrusive. The photos he captured are nothing short of breathtaking. Every moment – big and small was documented so beautifully and naturally. His attention to detail is incredible, and he has a true gift for capturing emotion in a way that feels authentic and timeless. Looking through our gallery felt like reliving the day all over again, and we’re genuinely blown away by the quality and artistry of his work. We’ve had so many compliments from family and friends about how amazing the photos are, and we couldn’t agree more. If you’re looking for a photographer who will go above and beyond to capture your day perfectly, we wholeheartedly recommend Andy.”
